UPDATE: We had a fantastic sold-out event at the first Troy Charity Night!
On May 19, 2022, the Troy Community Foundation hosted an endowment challenge event at Maggiano’s Little Italy that allowed attendees who purchased tickets to vote for the top prize amount of funds that were committed to be awarded at the event totaling $17,500 (seed money to help establish endowments once each group raises $10,000).
After votes were counted, the awards were announced as follows:
$10,000 – to the Automotive Authority Education Initiative that will fund scholarships for graduating high school students in Troy to help them attend an automotive trade program, by owner Tim Anderson of Automotive Authority in Troy, MI.
$5,000 – Troy Kiwanis Club, who will continue investing in initiatives that directly serve youth in Troy.
$2,500 – Jeanne M. Stine Family Parks fund named after the longest-serving female mayor and council member in the City of Troy, which will fund the continued maintenance and beautification of parks in Troy.
Additionally, the first Troy Community Champion award was given to Flagstar CEO Alessandro DiNello, for all the support they’ve given and investment made in Troy over the years.
