Troy Charity Night 2024
This year tickets not just included a drinks & hors d’oeuvres evening reception, but for each registrant a $50 donation was made by the Troy Community Foundation to help grow a TCF endowment of their choice. $3000 was disbursed to the endowment funds chosen by the 60 attendees - congratulations!

Troy Charity Night 2023
On May 4th, the Troy Community Foundation hosted Troy Charity Night 2023 at Camp Ticonderoga. An endowment challenge allowed the 100 attendees who purchased tickets to vote at the event for the top prize amount of funds committed to be awarded at the event totaling $20,000 (seed money to help establish endowments once each group fundraises to reach the minimum of $10,000). A friendly ‘competition’ where everyone walks away with funds to help establish their future endowment!
The 2023 seed money amounts after the votes were counted were:
$10,000 to the Satterfield First Responder Scholarship fund - will support the long-term sustainment of public safety and first responders in the Troy community by providing scholarships to Troy residents pursuing higher education and academy certifications in public safety. The fund will also provide financial opportunities for Troy programs focusing on developing interest in public safety such as police and fire youth explorer programs, as well as educational scholarships for children of first responders serving the Troy community.
TIE: $5,000 to the Joseph Semany Community Leadership endowment fund -Joe Semany, as a co-founder of the Troy Foundation for Educational Excellence & the Troy Community Foundation, continues to invest in his local community and wishes to support programming to train the rising generations of volunteer community leadership in Troy.
TIE: $5,000 to the Janet Sharp Schoon Memorial Scholarship fund - commemorating the life & teaching legacy of the late Troy elementary school music educator, Janet Sharp Schoon. The endowment will fund scholarships to further music education for select students in the Troy School District.
We also honored Troy Community Champion 2023 award winner Paul A. Glantz, CEO of Emagine Theatres.
