The Doug Tietz Endowment helps students from Troy explore careers, entrepreneurship, and skilled trades while developing the character, habits, and respect for the dignity of work.
The Endowment provides seed funding and grants for programs that give students practical exposure to work, careers, and opportunity. The emphasis is on ideas that need help getting started, testing a new approach, taking calculated risks, or reaching more students. Grants may support programs or groups that do any of the following:
Increase engagement between business and education
Introduce students to the opportunities available through skilled trades and military service
Teach practical job skills to students
Test new ideas or expand promising programs
Eligible applicants may include schools, teachers, student groups, nonprofit organizations, community organizations, and civic or organizational entrepreneurs whose programs align with the Fund’s purpose.
*The Endowment does not provide individual scholarships.
