There were many generous people in Troy who wanted to help make their community a better place to live, work and play. But they didn't know how to support local causes and improve the entire Troy community most effectively.

Next, We Started Talking...

In December 2015, a small group of citizens met over coffee and decided the time was right to work together to help various local causes. They decided to start a community foundation in Troy, Michigan to combine their efforts.

We have a Clear Vision...

Today, the Troy Community Foundation provides a simple one-stop place for charitable individuals and businesses to support the entire city of Troy. We have served the community by creating unique partnerships that connect individual, family, and business donors with a wide variety of charitable organizations and causes, from the annual Troy Family Daze festival, to endowments for beloved city institutions like the library, Stage Nature Center, and Troy Historical Society. Endowments also support scholarship funds, one-time grants, and beautification efforts.

It is all about others, not ourselves. The Board of the Troy Community Foundation is unified in the belief that citizen-driven initiatives are a huge part of what makes our city a great place. Volunteerism and personal generosity make Troy a world-class community.
